Commandant du groupe rebelle Mouvement de la justice et de l'égalité, Abu Garda a été accusé par la CPI des crimes de guerre contre des gardiens de la paix de l’Union africaine. Les accusations ne sont pas confirmées en raison d'un manque de preuve.
