Since Iraq’s independence in 1932, the country has experienced numerous conflicts and periods of civil war. Iraq is not a ICC state member, but is currently subject to preliminary examinations in response to allegations of detainee abuse by U.K. troops.

Gabon ratified the Rome Statute in 2000. On 29 September 2016, following a referral by the government of Gabon, the ICC announced a preliminary examination into alleged crimes after May 2016, related to the contested 2016 presidential elections

Republic of Korea

At the end of the Korean War, the Peninsula was divided into two separate states, but the countries remain formally at war. Occasional confrontations occur, ICC opened a preliminary examination into war crimes allegedly committed in South Korea in 2010.
