ending the era of impunity. Together.
Civil society was instrumental in establishing the international justice system.
We are now making it work.
Become a member of the Coalition today and lend your voice to the call for global justice for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.
Read on to find out how or contact our Secretariat for more information.
What's in it for you?
Membership provides unparalled exposure to the Rome Statute system of international justice.
As a member you will gain access to ICC-related meetings at the national and international levels, shared resources and joint strategizing through our regional and national networks.
Membership is free and open to non-governmental and civil society organizations working toward accountability for grave crimes through national or international mechanisms.
Members of the Coalition for the ICC work towards:
- promoting world-wide ratification and implementation of the Rome Statute of the ICC;
- maintaining the integrity of the Rome Statute of the ICC;
- ensuring that the ICC will be fair, effective, and independent;
- state support and cooperation in the Rome Statute system.
What can you do?
The Coalition brings together programmes on a range of themes and international justice issues.
Conduct campaigns
- Find out the current status of the ICC in your country and request information from your political representative about your country’s plans for ratification and/or implementation, and share it with the Coalition
- Urge your national and regional governments to ratify and implement the ICC Statute
- Follow developments at the meetings of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the ICC
- If your country is a State Party to the Rome Statute, request information about the procedure for nomination of a judge and call for the process to be transparent
- Conduct a petition drive to gather signatures in support of the ratification of the ICC treaty and send the petition to your political representative
Take part
- Participate in the Coalition's regional networks
- Participate in the Coalition's NGO teams on issues such as the team on Elections or the ICC Review
Share information
- Inform your membership about the ICC and encourage them to take action
- Hold briefings for civil society organisations and press about the ICC
- Link your website to the Coalition’s website
- Write contributions for the GlobalJustice News center
- Share news, infographics
Provide documentation
- Contact the Coalition to do translations of key information materials into the languages in your region
