Background on the 24th session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute

The ASP24 Background Document, published by the Coalition for the International Criminal Court, seeks to provide relevant information for civil society’s participation at the 24th session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute (ASP24). It also provides background information on the main themes which will be at the centre of this upcoming ASP session, including threats to the Court and civil society, non-cooperation and states’ withdrawal from the Rome Statute. Each thematic section includes a series of recommendations for States Parties to the Rome Statute.
